Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the U.S. government, is seeking an Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Manager to support a unique U.S. Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all operations, maintenance, and personnel associated with AGE.
- Supervise and lead AGE personnel, ensuring assets are operational and maintained to the highest standards.
- Conduct, schedule, and oversee inspection, maintenance, overhaul, repair, and modification activities to maintain operational readiness.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance directives, policies, and safety standards.
- Develop schedules and work plans for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Monitor team performance and productivity, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality workmanship.
- Apply mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, engine, refrigeration, heating, electrical, and electronic system knowledge.
- Interpret technical materials, such as wiring diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and maintenance publications.
- Manage handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate detailed records of inspections, repairs, and reports.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff for technical and operational improvement.
- Serve as primary liaison with other departments, contractors, and leadership regarding AGE operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and occupational safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma required (higher education preferred).
- At least five years of supervisory experience in aviation maintenance focused on AGE.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, heating, refrigeration, gasoline/Diesel engines, and electrical/electronic systems.
- Proficiency interpreting technical materials, including schematic diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
- In-depth understanding of maintenance directives and hazardous waste handling regulations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and workforce management skills.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations applicable to AGE operations.
- Possession of a valid passport with at least one year validity at hire and ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance for the deployment duration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or related field.
- Relevant certifications, such as OSHA safety certification or other maintenance oversight qualifications.
- Prior military experience managing AGE systems and teams.
- Knowledge of U.S. Navy or DoD maintenance standards.
- Experience working in austere OCONUS or remote locations.
- Advanced familiarity with maintenance management software and tools.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain a safety-first culture, adhering to safety standards and participating in emergency response training.
- Perform duties in alignment with the Quality Management System, meeting customer expectations and contract requirements.
- Follow applicable operational, environmental, and safety regulations, policies, and processes.
