About the project

We are building a cutting-edge engineering platform organisation to embed AI capabilities throughout the software development and delivery lifecycle.

As AI Catalyst Lead, you will accelerate the adoption of AI-driven tools and workflows across multiple engineering teams. This role serves as a critical bridge between AI-enabled developer platforms and the engineering teams that rely on them. It is ideal for someone who is equally confident writing code and designing adoption strategies with senior engineering stakeholders.

You will work hands-on, helping teams unlock productivity with AI-assisted development tools, streamline workflows, and create scalable adoption playbooks.

Your responsibilities

• Drive AI Adoption and Accelerate Time-to-Value
• Partner with engineering squads to assess workflows and implement AI tooling aligned to standard patterns and platforms.
• Lead structured adoption initiatives: enablement workshops, office hours, and self-serve guides tailored for backend, frontend, platform, and QA engineers.
• Define and track metrics to ensure teams move from passive licence holders to active, high-value users delivering measurable impact.
• Be a Hands-On Technical Partner
• Write real production code with customer teams to showcase AI coding assistants in real-world scenarios, beyond simple demos.
• Diagnose and resolve adoption blockers — whether technical, cultural, or process-driven.
• Turn early adoption lessons into repeatable playbooks for enterprise-scale rollouts.
• Streamline developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and governance controls, leveraging AI automation.
• Act as the voice of the developer, providing structured feedback to platform teams on feature improvements and friction points.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to prioritise enhancements delivering the greatest value.

Our requirements

• 6–10 years in software engineering, platform engineering, developer experience, or similar technical leadership roles.
• Demonstrable experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) in production environments, beyond experimentation.
• Proven success in cross-team or consultancy-style roles, delivering technical enablement at scale.
• Ability to design and run enablement programmes or developer-focused training sessions.
• Fluency in modern engineering toolchains: version control (Git), CI/CD, IDEs, code review, and deployment workflows.
• Capable of assessing existing toolchains and making tailored, pragmatic recommendations.
• Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, able to communicate technical concepts from ICs to Engineering Directors.
• A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, bringing structure where needed and identifying opportunities proactively.
