Senior QA Automation Engineer (Java / Appium)

We are currently looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with Java experience to join a project focused on developing a solution for utilities and asset-intensive organizations. The platform helps engineers and asset managers improve the reliability, availability and performance of critical assets by supporting asset health assessment, operational risk analysis and maintenance and investment planning.

 

The solution provides a web-based environment for engineering, maintenance and asset management teams and includes features such as asset health and risk monitoring, reliability assessment models, maintenance scenario analysis, KPI reporting and analytics , as well as integrations with enterprise systems through REST APIs and messaging interfaces .

 

The project also includes a hybrid mobile application developed with Flutter , with automated mobile testing implemented using Appium .

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer who combines strong knowledge of software testing and test automation with a solid technical background. The role includes API, UI, integration and performance testing, developing automated test suites and working closely with developers throughout the development lifecycle. F luent Polish and English communication skills are obiliged for this role .

Responsibilities

• Defining test objectives, test scenarios and test cases
• Executing functional and automated tests across different layers of the application
• Developing and maintaining automated test suites
• Testing APIs, user interfaces, system integrations and application performance
• Performing defect analysis and root cause analysis
• Working closely with developers from an early stage of the development lifecycle to ensure testability of new features
• Cooperating with developers to identify, analyse and resolve product issues
• Ensuring the overall quality and stability of delivered functionality
• Supporting the reduction of defects escaping into production
• Verifying integrations with external systems through REST APIs and messaging interfaces
• Ensuring high-quality documentation of defects, test scenarios and QA processes
• Supporting continuous improvement of QA processes and automated testing practices

Requirements

• Senior-level commercial experience in software testing and test automation
• Practical programming experience with Java
• Strong commercial experience with Selenium
• Strong understanding of QA best practices, testing methodologies and testing processes
• Experience in creating and maintaining automated test suites
• Experience with API, UI, integration and performance testing
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Experience with Git and version control workflows
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated test execution
• Experience with Zephyr Scale and/or Azure DevOps
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and independently investigate software defects
• Good written and spoken English
• Fluent Polish communication skills due to the project communication model

Nice to have

• Experience with Appium

• Experience in solutions related to asset management, industrial systems, utilities or critical infrastructure
• MSc in Computer Science or a related field
• Location in Kraków or the surrounding area , making regular office visits easier
