MIP Chemist

Scope Fluidics S.A.

MIP Chemist

Miejsce pracy: Warszawa

Your responsibilities

  • Own nanoMIP synthesis end-to-end: design, develop, and optimise polymerisation, crosslinking, and imprinting protocols. If a protocol works — document it. If it does not — diagnose and improve it.
  • Run the full characterisation pipeline: DLS (size, PDI, aggregation, stability), zeta potential, TEM, and BLI — against defined validation criteria and batch acceptance thresholds.
  • Evaluate nanoMIP performance: binding affinity (Kd), selectivity (MIP vs. control), and colloidal stability. Results should be clear, quantitative, and reproducible.
  • Develop, author, and maintain SOPs for critical chemical processes, along with QC methods aligned with internal validation standards.
  • Maintain rigorous, real-time documentation: batch records, lab notebooks, validation reports. If it is not documented, it did not happen.
  • Collaborate closely with physicists, engineers, regulatory, and quality teams — translating chemistry into actionable inputs for development.
  • Work with subcontractors and technology partners: evaluate capabilities, coordinate work, and verify outputs before internal integration.
  • Contribute to patents, publications, and grant applications to expand the company’s IP portfolio and support R&D funding.
  • Co-create the R&D agenda: monitor scientific developments, propose directions, and proactively drive the science forward.

Our requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in the design, synthesis, and application of nanoMIPs or closely related polymer systems (e.g. molecularly imprinted polymers, hydrogel nanoparticles).
  • Strong expertise in nanoparticle characterisation: DLS, zeta potential, TEM; experience with BLI or SPR for binding analysis is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with or developing SOPs in a regulated or quality-driven R&D environment.
  • Ability to work independently and make methodological decisions — this role requires ownership, not step-by-step execution.
  • Strong documentation discipline: real-time lab notebooks, batch records, and validation reporting.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex scientific concepts to non-chemists.
  • Working proficiency in English (documentation, publications, external communication).

Optional

  • Experience with NTA, TRPS, or other particle tracking / resistive pulse sensing methods.
  • Background in biosensor development or integration of recognition materials into devices.
  • Publications or patents in the MIP / nanoMIP field.
  • Familiarity with grant funding processes (e.g. NCBiR, ERC, Horizon Europe).
  • Experience with solid-phase imprinting techniques.

What we offer

  • Ownership over a technology that does not yet exist at commercial scale
  • A real impact on scientific direction — not just execution. Your ideas will shape the R&D agenda.
  • A small, senior team with direct communication, fast problem-solving, and a no-politics environment.
  • Direct contribution to IP: your work feeds into patents, publications, and long-term competitive advantage.
  • Access to a fully equipped lab with advanced characterisation infrastructure (DLS, zeta, TEM, BLI) and a strong external partner network.

Benefits

  • sharing the costs of sports activities
  • private medical care
  • sharing the costs of professional training & courses
  • flexible working time
