Job Description
This role’s primary responsibility is to ensure that data privacy principles are implemented into all areas of Publicis’ business in the BeNe, Nordics & CEEmarket. This position should have knowledge of data privacy laws that are applicable to the adtech and advertising industry. The position will coordinate across senior-level business, engineering, and system administration stakeholders to implement data privacy by design and default into existing and future proprietary systems. This role will navigate between strategic business objectives and system/process concepts.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementing and managing the Data Privacy Program for the Publicis agencies alongside the Global Data Privacy Program Lead.
- Collaborate closely with Publicis Groupe´s Global Data Privacy Office, as well as the Global Security Office to ensure alignment between Groupe´s global cyber security and privacy and data protection practices and programs.
- Serve as one of the data privacy subject matter experts with a focus on privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
Activities
- Undertake reviews of our business processes to ensure the best practices are followed around the handling and use of personal information.
- Under the supervision of the Global Data Privacy Program Lead:
- Deploy and ensure the completion of record keeping obligations.
- Compile status reports of data privacy deliverables to executive leadership.
- Provide leadership and strategic guidance to product/system owners in the design and evaluation of privacy and data protection related tools and projects (e.g. privacy-by-design).
- Lead all phases of vendor due diligence assessment for all market specific vendors/partners.
- Partner with vendor contract owners to ensure contractual obligations are met by vendors in accordance with data privacy laws.
- Facilitate factual due diligence activities for data privacy impact assessments.
- Prepare and assist with presenting clear, accurate and timely reports on privacy and data protection risks, risk mitigation measures and compliance activities.
- Support monitoring compliance with the GDPR and other data protection laws, our data protection policies, awareness‑raising, training, and audits.
- Participate in client meetings for questions related to data privacy and protection matters.
- Be informed on the evolving privacy regulatory landscape and (a) inform the Global Data Privacy Program teams on the potential impact; and (b) understand the impact on the market operations, processes and tools and ensure projects and tasks are initiated to reflect the changing landscape.
GDPO/Privacy Program Lead Support
- Assist in establishing quality standards and indexes to ensure adherence to data privacy governance, data privacy policies and (data) information security standards/policies through analysis and audits.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual data privacy reports (templates provided by GDPOps).
- Support Data Privacy Impact Assessment and Security Risk Assessment under the Data Privacy Program Lead under the overall supervision of the GDPO.
- Work closely with Data Privacy Program Lead to support them in setting strategy and defining success criteria for market/country/brand approach within a hub.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in the adtech and digital media industry is ideal. A risk management or audit background in a regulated industry would also be considered.
- Ability to manage 8-10 medium to large size projects simultaneously in a matrixed, multi‑discipline environment.
- Ideally experience of collating and preparing Subject Access Request disclosures.
- Preferred minimum of 8 years’ professional work experience. Ideally 3 years of these are data privacy related experience with a focus on data privacy and protection laws, regulations and best practices.
- One Trust experience preferred.
- Experience in or knowledge of information technology.
- IAPP certification(s) (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM) or willingness to become certified.
- Must be comfortable working in a distributed functional team with remote management support.
- Stays informed on the evolving data privacy landscape to (a) understand the potential impacts on media´s business offerings; and (b) to design and implement the necessary corrective actions in relation to the team’s/Publicis Media’s current operations, processes and tools to remain compliant.

- Must possess excellent knowledge of adtech, media, and marketing industry with strong initiative, collaboration skills, communication proficiency, problem‑solving and analytical skills, as well as excellent management and leadership skills.
