The Position
Strategic Programs Manager (Procurement Enhancement Programs)

As a Strategic Programs Manager (Procurement Enhancement Programs), you will work in partnership with teams from Global Procurement and other Roche functions to accelerate and enhance the delivery of GP led strategic programs. You will focus on Procurement Enhancement Programs, with the aim to increase the overall level of effectiveness, efficiency and customer experience of Global Procurement.
Responsibilities
You utilise your expertise and in-depth knowledge in project management methodologies to lead and facilitate the execution of strategic procurement-led programs, focusing on transformative initiatives such as Operating Model Design and Implementation, Technology Deployment and Adoption, and Procurement Strategy Realization.
You work closely with procurement, business stakeholders, and other relevant colleagues in a matrix setup either as a peer, coach, project/workstream lead, or subject matter lead, to align on needs, create the business case for change, prioritize, execute, and realize project goals.
You develop change management strategies and integrate change management activities in project execution to drive transformational changes in the organisation. You manage the people side of the change to drive behavioural changes and adoption.
You contribute to the further development of project management and change management capabilities in the team, advocate and accelerate the advancement of best practices and methodologies.
You act as a practitioner and catalyst, applying GP’s core procurement capabilities and approaches in the programmes you work on, and contribute to continuous enhancement of procurement excellence.
You act as a role model, demonstrating curiosity, passion, an entrepreneurial spirit, enterprise thinking, inclusive collaboration, and desire for continuous learning.
Who you are
You hold a university degree, preferably in business, engineering or technology.
You have 5+ years procurement, project management, or management consulting experience, ideally within a matrix organisation.
You have in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of project management and are accustomed to working in a project fashion with cross‑function teams.
You have a good understanding of end‑to‑end procurement processes, technologies and operating models.
You have experience working with program teams where you are not the day‑to‑day owner, with demonstrated ability to step into new areas easily and apply previous experience and transferable skills in new situations.
You demonstrate curiosity, active listening skills and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, focusing on continuous learning and improvement.
You have strong stakeholder management experience, the ability to communicate concepts and ideas effectively with various audiences, and the ability to influence others.
You have good data literacy, are data‑driven in your thinking and actions, and can use data to identify, quantify opportunities and manage programs.
Experience in Design Thinking methodology, service design and operating model design is preferable.
Experience in transformation and organisational change management projects is preferable.
You have business‑level fluency in English.
