Akamai's Information Security team is responsible for safeguarding Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. Akamai is seeking an experienced application penetration tester to join its Product Security Penetration Testing team.
Shape Internet Security
Product Security is the pillar of Information Security that provides security review testing and advisory services to Akamai's product teams throughout the SDLC.
The Penetration Testing team will perform application, network, mobile cloud assessments and more! In this role you will enhance the security of Akamai’s products by identifying and helping remediate vulnerabilities. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading security experts on a global team.
As a member of the Penetration Testing team, you will:
- Collaborating with security and product teams to identify testing targets, define assessment scopes, and perform white-box penetration testing on Akamai products
- Assessing risk vulnerabilities, communicate vulnerabilities to technical and non-technical audiences, and provide remediation guidance to developers
- Re-test known vulnerabilities to validate that they've been fixed
- Developing custom tools as needed to effectively test Akamai products.
- Supporting Akamai's bug bounty programs by triaging researcher submissions and coordinating report remediation with internal product teams
- Contributing to internal processes and documentation, share knowledge with team members
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have relevant experience with leading and performing penetration tests and/or red team engagements
- Have experience with testing several of the following: web applications, mobile applications, client applications, cloud and networks
- Be proficient in at least one programming language and understand common vulnerabilities, attack vectors and frameworks
- Know how to remediate common vulnerabilities and be able to propose custom solutions based on application architecture and implementation
- Have experience using tools like BurpSuite and IDAPro and techniques like fuzzing
- Be driven, innovative individual who are highly motivated and possess solid self-learning abilities
- Leverage AI and LLMs to enhance static and dynamic analysis, and create automation for code analysis and vulnerability discovery
- Possess a collaborative working style and desire to work with a global team to improve the security of Akamai products
