Your responsibilities

Responsibility for Accounting:

• Responsibility for maintaining the Company’s accounts (General Ledger, Debtors, Creditors, Asset Accounting, etc.)

• Accounting for international transactions (imports, exports, WNT, WDT)

• Responsibility for the timely and accurate preparation of the Company’s financial statements in accordance with Polish GAAP

• Comprehensive execution of month end and year end closing procedures as required by Polish law and the headquarters in Germany

• Timely and accurate preparation of reports and statements for local and Group Management, banks, and external institutions

• Supervision of the correctness of tax settlements, in particular CIT, VAT, local taxes, and other obligations

Responsibility for Cost Controlling & FP&A:

• Full responsibility for cost controlling (OPEX/CAPEX), budgeting in cooperation with Group management, forecasting, cost performance monitoring, variance analysis, and recommending optimization actions; building and developing financial models supporting business decision making

• Profitability & Revenue Integration: linking cost data with revenues and margins (end to end profitability view); analyzing product, channel, and business initiative profitability

• Operational Efficiency: analyzing process efficiency across departments (operations, back office), identifying inefficiencies, and recommending improvements; implementing cost and operational KPIs; partnering with business leaders to enhance organizational effectiveness

• Management Reporting & Communication: preparing materials and presentations for the Management Board; presenting financial results, costs, and profitability; translating data into business recommendations; fostering a data driven culture in the area of costs and efficiency

• Responsibility for liquidity management, factoring, and hedging of foreign exchange and interest rate risks

• Supervision and optimization of the ERP system together with an external IT consultant towards a fully integrated value flow and improved controlling structures

• Responsibility for the development and updating of the Company’s Accounting Policy and Chart of Accounts in accordance with specified reporting standards and Group requirements

• Optimization of tax policy, cost structure, and the level of current assets; evaluation of investment projects

• Contact and cooperation with external institutions (tax authorities, ZUS, GUS, NBP)

• Cooperation with the statutory auditor

• Cooperation with other company departments, the headquarters in Germany, and contractors (including foreign ones) on accounting and tax matters

• Participation in internal and external audits and inspections, and support in the preparation of required documentation

Our requirements

• Higher education in economics; preferred majors: finance, accounting, or controlling
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience as a Chief Accountant in an international manufacturing company
• 3–5 years of experience as a Controller in an international manufacturing company
• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of management and financial accounting, controlling, budgeting, financial planning, cost control, and financial risk management
• Very good knowledge of Polish accounting standards
• Very good knowledge of Polish tax regulations
• Knowledge of English and/or German at C1 level
• Very good knowledge of common ERP systems; experience with Comarch ERP is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office; advanced MS Excel skills are required
• Independence, accuracy, and full commitment to assigned duties
• Efficient work organization and responsibility for timely task execution
• Knowledge of foreign exchange risk management
• Experience in leading a team of accountants
