You will design, develop, and improve distributed applications that support business-critical workflows, combining hands-on backend engineering with contributions to system architecture, automation, and technical standards. Your responsibilities, Develop and maintain application code for business-critical distributed systems., Build automated tests that improve software quality, stability, and maintainability., Analyse and resolve issues identified in testing and production environments., Conduct code reviews and provide actionable feedback to other engineers., Contribute to architecture, system design, and technology selection discussions., Evaluate function, scalability, testability, security, and resilience together with testers and business users., Research technologies and recommend improvements to the department’s technology stack., Define and improve engineering standards, development practices, and technical documentation., Drive greater automation across development, testing, and deployment processes., Support the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines., Ensure applications and engineering practices remain aligned with current industry standards., Communicate effectively with engineers, testers, business users, and stakeholders outside the immediate team., Translate business and operational needs into practical technical solutions., Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members., Support the recruitment and assessment of new engineering talent.

4+ years of professional software engineering experience in a backend or full-stack role., Strong commercial experience with Java, Spring, SQL, Hibernate, and Kafka., Proven contributions to system architecture and technical design., Strong understanding of relational databases and popular web application frameworks., Practical knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, including queues, publish-subscribe messaging, and REST APIs., Experience designing or developing applications based on microservice architecture., Experience with automated testing, build automation, and CI/CD pipelines., Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes., Exposure to Angular or another reactive frontend framework is an advantage., Experience working within Agile software development environments., Ability to assess systems in terms of scalability, security, resilience, maintainability, and testability., Confidence troubleshooting complex issues across test and production environments., Ability to contribute constructively to code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering standards., Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills., Clear and effective communication across technical and business teams., Professional working proficiency in English.
