Web Development Team Lead

The Web Development Team Lead is responsible for leading the day-to-day development, delivery, and technical quality of the organization’s web platforms. This role combines hands‑on technical leadership with people management, ensuring scalable, secure, and high‑performing web solutions that align with business and marketing goals.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and websites
• Define and enforce development standards, architecture principles, and best practices
• Review code, ensure quality, performance, security, and accessibility compliance
• Guide technical decision‑making, including frameworks, tools, and integrations
• Partner closely with UX, marketing, IT, and product teams on requirements and delivery
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of web developers
• Plan team capacity, sprint priorities, and delivery timelines
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance team culture
• Support recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and skills development

Planning & Stakeholder Management

• Translate business and marketing needs into technical solutions
• Estimate effort, manage dependencies, and mitigate technical risks
• Communicate progress, blockers, and trade‑offs to stakeholders
• Contribute to web roadmap, platform evolution, and continuous improvement initiatives

Governance & Operations

• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), security, and privacy requirements
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous optimization
• Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and development workflows
