To support their continued growth, we are seeking skilled Control & Automation Engineer/ Designer to join their team.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with Control and Automation team on projects and ensure delivery of project on time and in budget
  • Have the opportunity to design, programme and commission control systems for the world’s most complex projects
  • Have the opportunity to deliver projects within the mining, metals, process industries and more
  • Prepare and review all engineering documentation within a discipline (instrument lists, I/O lists, P&ID, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams and others)
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all engineering activities
  • Preparation of Basic and Detail Engineering, procurement, installation of automation components and systems
  • Create technical specifications for automation components, systems and instrumentation
  • Create technical functional descriptions, test specifications and instructions as well as interface descriptions
  • Support with HAZOPs, SIL calculations and validations
  • Collaborate with project management/engineering staff to achieve project objectives
  • Conduct work in accordance with company safety and quality policies and procedures
  • Perform field surveys, when necessary
  • Provide construction support, commissioning and start-up assistance as required

Our requirements

  • B.Sc./B.Eng. in Electronic / Electrical Engineering, Controls and Automation Engineering or equivalent, with a strong interest in industrial process control, automation and computer systems
  • Several years of experience in relevant area
  • Experience with industrial communication technologies, networking and hardware
  • Knowledge of automation and instrumentation components and systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of network technology, servers, virtualization, and redundancy concepts
  • Knowledge of PLC technology. DCS knowledge is nice to have
  • Demonstrated strong troubleshooting, analytical, technical problem-solving skills
  • High attention to details, motivation and commitment to quality and customer service
  • Ability to operate effectively and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Open mind and willingness to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts and technologies
  • Ability to work in a team environment with team members located locally and around the world
  • Understanding of automation software development and implementation lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Windows, Basic Networking and Databases
