Your impact

Joining Jacobs is more than just a career. We value and invest in our people and communities to foster growth and success. Our inclusive culture embraces diverse perspectives, building collaboration and trust to challenge the norm. Your ingenuity, diverse thinking, and experience will contribute to our ongoing success and help create a positive work environment. You'll deliver great work through your passion and expertise, in collaboration with diverse teams.

About the Opportunity

Do you want to be at the forefront of driving our company strategy and at the heart of growing our business? Are you passionate about winning work for our teams? Are you someone who can take complex HSSE concepts and turn them into compelling client value? Within our European Growth & Sales team, we have an immediate requirement for a Sales HSSE Professional to support some of the Europe region's largest and most strategic pursuits and opportunities.

This role sits within Growth & Sales and provides a unique opportunity to apply your HSSE experience in a work-winning environment. You will be responsible for developing HSSE responses that help differentiate Jacobs, demonstrate our capability and culture, and support successful pursuit outcomes. Working alongside Sales Leads, Proposal Managers and HSSE professionals across the business, you will translate Jacobs' HSSE processes, experience and culture into clear, compelling and client-focused responses.

While your primary focus will be supporting strategic pursuits and bid development, you will also work with Sales Leads throughout the sales lifecycle to identify HSSE risks, requirements, and challenges, and assist in addressing these.

This role requires curiosity, sound judgement and strong writing ability. You will use your own experience, AI tools and targeted input from HSSE specialists across the business to develop winning responses, improve the quality and consistency of HSSE content, and help pursuit teams articulate the value that Jacobs brings to clients. You will be confident challenging assumptions, identifying gaps and asking difficult questions where HSSE risks, commitments or delivery considerations have not been fully explored.

If you are passionate about HSSE, enjoy writing, solving problems, and want to help shape some of Jacobs' most important pursuits across Europe, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Deliverables (Not limited to):

  • Lead the development of compelling HSSE responses for pursuits, transforming client requirements into clear, persuasive submission that differentiate Jacobs.
  • Work closely with Sales Leads, Proposal Managers/Co-ordinators and HSSE professionals to convert win themes, process and evidence into high quality storyboards and written responses, using your own HSSE experience, AI tools and targeted input from subject matter experts across the business.
  • Challenge assumptions, generic content and unsupported commitments to improve the quality, credibility and competitiveness of HSSE responses.
  • Coordinate contributions from HSSE specialists and other stakeholders, maintaining ownership of the final HSSE response and delivering to agreed deadlines across multiple opportunities.
  • Support Sales Leads in identifying HSSE risks, requirements and challenges throughout the sales lifecycle, helping teams make informed decisions and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain HSSE collateral, working with others on standard responses, case studies, proof points and AI-ready content, to improve the consistency and efficiency of future pursuits.

Other Sales team members are based across multiple offices and preference is for these positions to be in one of these offices though don’t let the location put you off applying: Krakow, Warsaw, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, Glasgow or Dublin offices.

Here's what you'll need

We're interested in your attributes and relevant practical experience, as opposed to prescribed levels of academic or professional qualification.

Experience in an HSSE role, or in a project delivery role with significant HSSE responsibilities, is required. Previous bid or proposal experience is desirable, but not essential. We are looking for people who can understand HSSE risk, think critically, challenge assumptions and translate technical subject matter into compelling, client-focused responses.

  • Experience applying HSSE principles in project, design, construction or operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of HSSE and how it can influence project delivery and client confidence.
  • Good knowledge of legislative approaches to construction, design, and management across Europe and the UK, or a strong willingness and aptitude to develop this knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to establish and meet deadlines across multiple priorities.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, persuasive and client-focused content.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and challenging assumptions where risks, commitments or opportunities have not been fully explored.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with Sales Leads, Proposal Managers, HSSE professionals and subject matter experts across the business.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for using AI tools and new technologies to improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of pursuit support.
  • Passion for Jacobs' BeyondZero culture and the role HSSE plays in creating value for people, project and communities through initiatives like de5ign and One Million Lives.
  • Work may be required outside core hours, although we try to keep this to a minimum.

Key attributes for the role include

  • Positive work ethic and proactivity, self-motivation, initiative, and adaptability.
  • Ability to quickly understand, analyse, and respond to problems.
  • A collaborative, relationship-based mindset to working across diverse teams.
  • Confidence to challenge assumptions and ask difficult questions.
  • Work regime flexibility and accepting there are periods of intense working.
  • A competitive nature.
