Senior Accountant with Romanian

• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in accordance with Romanian GAAP
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual local closing processes for the Romanian entity
• Prepare mid-year and annual financial statements in compliance with Romanian statutory requirements
• Prepare Corporate Income Tax calculations and ensure timely and accurate tax filings
• Ensure VAT compliance, including preparation and submission of VAT returns and ANAF reporting
• Support statutory reporting in line with Romanian local GAAP requirements, including reporting to institutions such as the National Bank of Romania and the National Institute of Statistics
• Deliver accurate and timely monthly and quarterly US GAAP reporting in line with corporate deadlines and standards
• Prepare group reporting packages for consolidated financial statements
• Reconcile differences between Romanian GAAP and US GAAP
• Cooperate with and support internal and external audits
• Supervise fixed asset accounting
• Oversee inventory stock count processes
• Review and approve account reconciliations

Candidate Profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
• Strong experience in Romanian accounting and financial reporting
• Solid knowledge of Romanian GAAP , Romanian Accounting Law and local statutory reporting requirements
• Good understanding of Romanian tax legislation, including Corporate Income Tax and VAT
• Experience in preparing or supporting statutory financial statements for Romania
• Experience in supporting statutory audits
• Previous experience with US GAAP reporting would be an advantage
• Experience in payroll processing and payroll reporting for Romania would be a plus
• CECCAR qualification or certification in progress would be preferred
• High level of accountability, ownership and attention to detail
• Strong ethical standards and internal control mindset
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills
• Fluency in English
• Fluency in Romanian is required
• Polish language skills would be an advantage, but are not essential
