Frontend Software Development Engineer

App Platform Engineering builds and maintains the foundational mobile and web platform that all Remitly product teams build on top of. We own the architecture, shared frameworks, build and release infrastructure, design system, and developer tooling. These let product teams ship faster and with higher quality and eliminate the need for product teams to solve the same hard problems twice.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and evolution of our mobile and web platform – decisions that 20+ product teams depend on
• Contribute to design and implementation of future client app architecture
• Lead the shared component library, design system, accessibility and localisation engine – partnering with UX to set standards for performance, accessibility, and observability
• Enable product teams through documentation, tooling, and architecture reviews – and help the team stay current on React Native and AI‑assisted development
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, feature flagging, and safe rollout infrastructure – from pipeline design to app store delivery
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold quality standards, including regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with 4+ years building products at scale
• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks – React or React Native
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, or similar)
• Hands‑on experience owning the full mobile or web release lifecycle – from pipeline design to safe app store delivery
• Experience designing the data layer between backend services and client apps – GraphQL, BFF patterns, or similar API contracts that keep frontends decoupled
• Exposure to design systems at scale – building components that product teams actually adopt

Nice to Have

• Experience with at least one backend language: Go, Java, or Kotlin
• React Native knowledge: performance constraints, native bridge, OS‑level differences
• Experience contributing to shared platforms – frameworks, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines
• A track record of onboarding teams onto platforms you built – good docs, well‑designed APIs, and making the right thing the easy thing
• Informed opinions across the full client app spectrum, from full native to PWA, with clear thinking on where each approach wins and where it breaks down

Compensation

The starting base salary range for this position is typically zł 245,000 – zł 275,000 per annum. In Poland, Remitly employees are shareholders in our company and equity is part of our total compensation plan. Remitly Poland applies increased tax deductible costs to remuneration earned by certain qualifying employees for the transfer of copyrights, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Income Tax Act.
