Your responsibilities

As part of our growing Marine Business Unit, you will contribute to high-end engineering, design and project execution services for our clients, while also supporting project sales activities.

As a System Responsible Engineer (SRE), you are responsible for the design, coordination and delivery of your assigned system throughout the project lifecycle. You ensure that design activities are completed on schedule, meet contractual requirements and comply with agreed quality standards. You will work closely with other engineering disciplines, suppliers and modelling teams to ensure seamless integration of your system into the overall vessel design.

During both Basic Design and Detail Design phases, you will:

Take overall responsibility for an assigned system, including its components and equipment.

Support the project from design kick-off through client delivery or contract completion.

Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, regulations, standards and applicable legislation.

Define system components, requirements and interfaces.

Coordinate system integration and manage interfaces with other disciplines and systems.

Deliver system-related information and documentation to stakeholders on time.

Collaborate closely with other System Responsible Engineers and Room Responsible Engineers.

Prepare, maintain and update system and construction documentation.

Support the 3D Modelling Team in equipment and component placement.

Coordinate suppliers and monitor the timely delivery of technical information and documentation.

Act as the technical lead in the purchasing process, from inquiry phase to final documentation required for procurement and ordering.

Our requirements

• a master’s degree in a relevant technical field
• strong experience (10+ years) and expertise especially in ship design
• excellent communication skills
• an active approach and problem-solving ability
• good written and spoken communication skills in English
• willingness to travel
• motivation to work in a global operating environment
