Software Development Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Build and operate data platform components for streaming ingestion and MPP query and serving.
• Contribute code from design through delivery and own features and bug fixes.
• Participate in production operations, including on-call, debugging, performance tuning, and data-quality tuning.
• Participate in code reviews and write clear documentation.
• Collaborate with team and partner teams to deliver reliable, performant data infrastructure.
• Continuously develop expertise in distributed data systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with solid distributed-systems and data fundamentals.
• Exposure to or experience with data platform systems, including Flink or Spark and/or StarRocks, Trino, Apache Pinot, or Apache Doris.
• Some experience or strong aptitude for operating high-scale data platform systems, including on-call participation, production debugging, and performance and data-quality basics.
• Strong coding skills in Java, Scala, or Python.
• Familiarity with cloud data infrastructure on GCP or AWS.
• Open-source contributions to relevant projects are a strong positive.
