Your responsibilities

• Launch and scale the Kraków R&D hub: help establish its operating structure, processes, infrastructure and ways of working.
• Build, coach and retain multidisciplinary engineering and product-development teams; create a respectful, feedback-driven culture.
• Lead R&D priorities from concept and feasibility through design, prototyping, validation and handover to manufacturing partners.
• Own resource planning, budgets, delivery milestones, performance indicators and transparent management reporting.
• Partner closely with US leadership and international stakeholders to align product roadmaps, business priorities and execution.
• Improve cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product, commercial and manufacturing teams.
• Represent the local hub with external partners, suppliers and relevant institutions when needed.

Our requirements

• Proven leadership experience in R&D, engineering, product development or a comparable technology-driven environment.
• Track record of building or scaling teams, functions, new sites or complex technical initiatives.
• Experience delivering physical or hardware products through multiple stages of the development lifecycle.
• Strong business judgment: comfortable with budgets, trade-offs, priorities, risks and measurable outcomes.
• People-first leadership: respect, mentoring, talent development and the ability to earn trust.
• Learning agility, adaptability and openness to unfamiliar challenges; a practical, low-ego approach.
• Confident professional English for regular collaboration with international leadership; Polish for local operations.
• Ability to work in Kraków and be present as needed to establish and lead the hub.
• Availability for a few evening calls per week to sync with our US team, typically between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM, is required.
• As part of this role, you'll attend exhibitions and conferences worldwide, potentially including meeting our team in the US.

Optional

• Background in industrial 3D printing, advanced manufacturing, mechatronics or related hardware technologies.
• Experience in a greenfield operation, international company or US–Europe collaboration.
• Familiarity with product testing, prototyping workflows, technical suppliers and manufacturing transfer.

What we offer

• B2B cooperation agreement with monthly compensation of PLN 24,000–30,000 (net + VAT), depending on experience and scope of responsibility.
