Chief Accountant

Your responsibilities

  • Managing a team of several accounting professionals and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Overseeing the accounting books for the main operating company and over 40 SPV entities within a capital group, in line with applicable accounting standards and internal procedures.
  • Supervising the Group’s accounting policies and ensuring consistent accounting practices across all entities.
  • Developing and maintaining unified accounting standards, including the review of accounting entries from both formal and substantive perspectives.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Taking responsibility for the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with the Polish Accounting Act.
  • Supporting the reporting team in the preparation of financial statements under IFRS, including both standalone and consolidated reporting for a growing number of entities.
  • Cooperating closely with external auditors and coordinating audit-related activities.
  • Preparing and submitting tax declarations, including VAT, VAT EU, CIT and WHT.
  • Managing statutory reporting to external institutions such as the Tax Office, Social Insurance Institution, Central Statistical Office and National Bank of Poland.
  • Driving improvements, standardisation and automation of accounting processes.
  • Overseeing payments and monitoring receivables.
  • Working closely with various internal stakeholders, including financial reporting, controlling, legal, management office, HR, business teams and the international headquarters.

Our requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, including experience as a Chief Accountant or in a similar senior accounting role.
  • Proven experience in managing accounting teams within capital groups or organisations with complex legal structures.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards, including the Polish Accounting Act, IFRS and IAS.
  • Practical knowledge of tax regulations and their application in business operations.
  • Experience cooperating with auditors and managing audit processes.
  • Previous experience working closely with the Management Board, including CFO-level stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and their impact on accounting operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience in improving, standardising and automating repetitive accounting activities.
  • Very good command of English.
