About the project

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller to design, develop, and maintain data models supporting a modern analytical data platform. This is a pivotal role that involves collaborating with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality data solutions.

You will be responsible for translating business and technical requirements into scalable, efficient data models while ensuring adherence to data governance, integrity, and quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a data professional passionate about data architecture, modelling best practices, and enabling data-driven decision-making at scale.

Your responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support operational and analytical needs.
• Translate business requirements into robust data modelling solutions, ensuring alignment with data architecture principles and standards.
• Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, and source system experts to gather detailed data requirements and validate design assumptions.
• Define source-to-target mappings, data integrity checks, and data quality rules as part of the design process.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing to standards and best practices for data products.
• Guide Data Analysts in performing data profiling and directed data analysis to support model design.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing automation, data quality, and modelling frameworks.
• Stay current with emerging data technologies, modelling techniques, and industry developments.
• Note: Detailed project information will be shared during the recruitment process.

Our requirements

• Deep expertise in data modelling, including conceptual, logical, and physical model design for both operational and analytical environments.
• Proficiency in data modelling techniques, including Data Vault 2.0, Star Schema (dimensional), and 3NF.
• Hands-on experience with data profiling, data analysis, and handling structured and semi-structured formats (JSON, XML).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex modelling concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, influencing decision-making and sign-off processes.
• Knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.

Optional

• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Python scripting skills for automation and data analysis.
• Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
• Exposure to banking industry standards/models (BIAN, FSDM, FIBO, SWIFT, BDW) or experience designing enterprise-level data models.
