The role is based in a hybrid working model - 3 days per week from the office , located in the area of Warsaw's main business district.

Job Description

  • Prepare calculations and supporting documentation for journals, accruals, provisions, and month-end adjustments.
  • Analyse financial and business data to determine the correct accounting treatment, not only the system/process flow.
  • Support accrual processes related to GR/IR, fixed assets, employee-related costs, intercompany, and other operating expenses.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations across key accounts, including AR, AP, GR/IR, intercompany, fixed assets, accruals, and provisions.
  • Analyse balances, variances, and account movements, explaining key drivers and required adjustments from an accounting perspective.
  • Support month-end close activities by ensuring completeness, accuracy, and quality of RTR deliverables.
  • Prepare and review supporting documentation for reconciliations, including invoices, PO/GR data, subledger reports, schedules, ageing reports, and other relevant evidence.
  • Cooperate with transactional teams responsible for posting, providing accurate inputs, calculations, and posting instructions.
  • Work closely with finance, commercial, operational, and GBS stakeholders across different locations to resolve discrepancies and obtain required data.
  • Support intercompany accounting, including accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and follow-up on differences.
  • Ensure accounting entries are properly supported, audit-ready, and compliant with internal controls.
  • Contribute to process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives within the new GBS structure.
  • The Successful Applicant

    • Experience in RTR, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations, preferably in a shared services / GBS environment.
    • Strong technical understanding of accruals, provisions, journals, and month-end adjustments - including how they are calculated and supported.
    • Practical knowledge of accruals related to GR/IR, fixed assets, employee costs, intercompany, and operating expenses.
    • Good understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and the ability to explain what should support different account reconciliations, such as AR, AP, GR/IR, accruals, fixed assets, and intercompany.
    • Ability to answer accounting questions from a technical finance perspective, not only by describing how processes are executed in ERP systems.
    • Understanding of fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset classes not subject to depreciation.
    • Knowledge of intercompany accounting, including accrual creation, reconciliation of differences, and follow-up with relevant counterparties.
    • Very good command of English and Italian - both languages are required for daily cooperation.
    • Practical knowledge of Excel and experience working with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and confidence in working with financial data.
    • Good communication skills and readiness to cooperate with international stakeholders and outsourced / transactional teams.
    • Proactive approach, ownership mindset, and ability to maintain control over accounting quality in a multi-location setup.
    • Openness to working in a newly created structure, with a practical approach to improvements, standardization, and problem-solving.
