Security Director

We are looking for an experienced Director of Solution Security to lead and shape application security strategy across the organisation. This is a unique opportunity to build and develop a new function, establish security best practices, and drive a culture of secure software development at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Application Security team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Define and execute the organisation’s Application Security strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enterprise risk management goals.

• Embed security throughout the Software Development Life cycle (SDLC) by partnering closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams.

• Drive the adoption of secure coding standards, DevSecOps practices, security automation, and application security training initiatives.

• Oversee vulnerability management processes, including security testing activities (SAST, DAST, IAST, penetration testing, and code reviews), risk assessment, and remediation efforts.

• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and security standards while providing executive-level reporting, governance, and risk-based guidance to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is an advantage.

• 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity, application security, or related areas, including leadership responsibilities.

• Proven experience building and managing security teams, programmes, and processes within complex enterprise environments.

• Strong knowledge of secure software development, DevSecOps practices, threat modelling, vulnerability management, and offensive security methodologies.

• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.
