Field Engineer_Generator Diagnostics (100% Remote possible)

Job Description Summary

The Field Engineer - Generator diagnostics leads on‑site diagnostic activities. The role involves generator inspections and diagnostics conducted in close cooperation with the back office, engineering team, and remote support team. The field engineer performs electrical and mechanical diagnostic work on the generator, monitors repair work, and manages tools and materials to meet contractual requirements. The position requires decision‑making within defined parameters, applying technical concepts to complex problems, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and quality policies.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Perform generator diagnostics, including visual inspections and electrical tests on stators, rotors and other electrical components.
• Conduct robotic inspections and high‑voltage tests on generators.
• Re‑commission air‑cooled and H₂‑cooled generators.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Plan, organize, integrate and direct labor, tools and material allocation.
• Provide technical expertise to customers, service support, field technicians and operators.
• Support planning of diagnostic activities and execution onsite.
• Ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Attend technical meetings with customers and provide timely internal and external reports.
• Loop‑check and adjust analogue, binary and other measurements; adjust instrumentation as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset to align work with company EHS standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid understanding of electrical testing methods.
• Strong competence in reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and technical specifications.
• Willingness to travel internationally, and work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
• Fluency in English and Polish, both written and spoken.
