We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial accounting of our German entity. The position is based in Poznań and offers the opportunity to apply your knowledge of German accounting and tax regulations in an international environment.

This role is ideal for someone with practical experience in German financial accounting, sound knowledge of HGB and German tax law, and a structured, detail-oriented approach to work.

Your Responsibilities

• Record and process business transactions in accordance with German commercial and tax law

• Review, code and post incoming invoices, as well as record fixed assets

• Perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB (German Commercial Code)

• Monitor payment transactions and manage open items

• Handle dunning procedures

• Prepare German VAT returns and support related tax processes

• Assist with the preparation of business evaluations (BWA) and management reports

Our requirements

• Several years of experience in financial accounting, including hands-on experience with German accounting and tax regulations, are essential for this role
• Sound knowledge of HGB (German Commercial Code) and German tax law
• Strong written and spoken English skills
• Very good German language skills
• Strong proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace, particularly Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience with DATEV or similar accounting software
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• A proactive, determined, and solution-oriented mindset
• Strong analytical skills and a structured, accurate, and conscientious approach to work
• The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Optional

• A completed commercial vocational qualification (e.g. as a tax clerk) or a degree in accounting or finance
• Additional qualifications or certifications in accounting or finance
• Knowledge of IFRS
• Experience in the transport and logistics industry
