Software Engineer

Job Overview

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Software Engineer to design and develop FT Optix, a platform that enhances HMI and data visualization and supports Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), edge computing, and data management. The role focuses on subsystem design, implementation, testing, and ensuring high quality and compliance with standards. The position is located in Katowice, Poland, reporting to a manager in Poland with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Subsystem design, implementation, and testing.
• Active participation in all stages of the development lifecycle and support of the team.
• Ensure developed products meet requirements and quality management standards.
• Collaborate with multiple global cross‑functional teams.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience developing commercial or open‑source software.
• Proficiency in C++ for Windows and Linux.
• Knowledge of GUI development, particularly Qt.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality code and passion for design and code quality.
• Experience with data structures, object‑oriented design, and design patterns.
• Implement unit tests, integration tests, and use software testing methodologies.
• Experience with Agile Scrum processes.
• Communicative English for global team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Industrial Automation industry and familiarity with IoT, MQTT, or OPC UA protocols.
• Experience in architecting modular software.
• Experience with scaling, performance tools, and technologies.
• Experience with automated test tools.
• Experience testing integrated software products.
• Experience collaborating with local and global technical development teams.
