Generator Detailed Designer

Your responsibilities

• Generator Detailed Designer is responsible for the design of upgrades (Nuclear, Fossil & Industrial), new build applications and capital parts. The team also supports Core Service Engineering with technical expertise and capacity for outage activities.
• The Generator design team is multi-location and multi-cultural. The team is accountable for the technical solution and draws upon support from other teams including Electrical Engineering, Technology, and Core Service Engineering to conceptualize, design and document the solution for manufacture, installation, and operation.
• Develop and maintain solutions for new stators and rotors, rewinds, uprates, and other upgrades for generators according to specification; perform work without supervision, in time and efficiently.
• Follow the technical oversight of the Lead Designer for the execution of the design deliverables.
• Create and maintain product documentation like quality test plans, specifications, manufacturing instructions, BOM, 3D CAD models and 2D drawings to support research, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and outage maintenance activities.
• Work closely with the other engineering teams and provide support where needed.
• Contribute with innovative concept ideas in New Product Introduction (NPI) definition and execution phase.
• Have a Lean culture and propose ideas for continuous improvement in the design and engineering process.

Our requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Physics or equivalent learning through experience.
• Practical experience in use of engineering tools (CAD - Catia & NX, PLM) is very preferred.
• Pragmatic outlook.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
• Graduate or 1 to 2 years of experience in mechanical design engineering in the domain of new product design, service and/or manufacturing.
