About the project
Join Sii and work with one of Europe’s leading fintech scale-ups.
We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to join Sii and contribute to a long-term project delivered for a Copenhagen-based fintech that’s redefining how businesses manage company spending, empowering over 40,000 organizations across Europe with smart cards and real-time financial insights. In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of data and product engineering, building reliable, low-latency data pipelines that directly power customer-facing features in a modern, event-driven architecture.
Your responsibilities
- Building and maintaining product-serving data pipelines on AWS that feed the customer-facing serving layer — working to product backend reliability and latency standards, not analytical pipeline standards
- Contributing to the event infrastructure and ingestion pipelines that underpin real-time and near-real-time data serving
- Supporting the Kafka migration and data contract work needed to make the serving layer reliable at scale
- Working closely with backend and product engineering teams — this role sits at the data/product boundary, not inside the analytics function
- Owning pipeline reliability and monitoring for the serving layer, flagging and resolving issues with the urgency appropriate to customer-facing systems
Our requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer in cloud-based environments
- Proven expertise with AWS-native data infrastructure (S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions)
- Strong Python engineering skills
- Experience in building low-latency, reliable data serving pipelines with SLOs and monitoring appropriate to customer-facing products
- Familiarity with streaming or event-driven data infrastructure (Kafka or similar) and understanding of the operational demands of real-time or near-real-time data flows
- Knowledge of event schemas and data contracts, and understanding of the downstream consequences of schema changes on consuming services
- Familiarity with fintech or regulated data environments, particularly payments, financial operations or compliance data
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
- Residing in Poland required
