About the project

We are looking for a Senior / Expert Power BI & Business Intelligence Engineer to join an international Data Science & Engineering team responsible for the development and maintenance of a global Business Intelligence environment.

The role goes beyond standard Power BI report development. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining scalable BI solutions, including Power BI development, data modeling, data serving, dashboard design, Power BI administration and Premium Capacity management.

You will work closely with business stakeholders across different functions, independently gather and clarify requirements, and translate business needs into robust and scalable BI solutions.

The position also involves contributing to Power BI governance, standards and best practices, helping shape the future of the organization's global BI environment.

This is not a pure Power BI reporting role.

We are looking for an experienced BI professional who combines:

• Power BI Development + Power BI Administration / Premium Capacity + Data Modeling + Data Visualization + Business Stakeholder Management.

• The ideal candidate is a Senior / Expert-level BI Developer or BI Engineer who is capable of taking ownership of solutions across the broader BI environment, rather than focusing solely on creating dashboards and reports.

• You should be comfortable working both on the technical side of BI and directly with business stakeholders, understanding their needs and transforming them into scalable, maintainable and well-governed BI solutions.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable Power BI reports, dashboards and BI solutions.
• Develop sophisticated and user-friendly data visualizations and dashboards tailored to business needs.
• Design and maintain effective data models in Power BI, including appropriate relationships, measures and semantic models.
• Work with different data serving approaches to ensure reliable and performant Power BI solutions.
• Administer and manage the Power BI environment, including Premium Capacity.
• Contribute to Power BI governance, standards, security and best practices.
• Monitor and optimize Power BI environments and solutions for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Translate business requirements into technical BI solutions and independently manage requirements gathering.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and other technical teams to understand business processes and analytical needs.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and other BI professionals within an international Data Science & Engineering organization.
• Use Git/GitHub and established development practices for version control and collaboration.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of BI development processes, standards and architecture.

Our requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence / Analytics.
• Strong commercial experience in Power BI development.
• Proven experience with Power BI Administration and Premium Capacity management.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data serving in Power BI.
• Excellent knowledge of data visualization and dashboard design principles.
• Practical experience with Git, preferably GitHub.
• Ability to independently gather, analyze and translate business requirements into BI solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in an international and cross-functional environment.
• English at C1 level or higher.
