Your responsibilities

• Contributing to the Center of Excellence Tax Accounting & Reporting for Europe and MEISA
• Contributing to the US GAAP based income tax accounting process for all legal entities in Europe and MEISA (over 150 entities)
• Aligning with stakeholders including regional and Corporate Accounting as well as US based global tax accounting teams
• Supporting timely and accurate preparation of complex quarterly and annual US GAAP tax provision exercise, including return-to-provision exercise
• Maintaining tax accounts in the general ledger system in a timely and accurate manner
• Monitoring timely tax payments, forecasting and tracking
• Assisting with tax calculations for local GAAP financial statements, with special focus on Dutch entities
• Providing input and support to all global tax initiatives
• Driving the internal control framework with focus on process improvements, risk management and data efficiency
• Developing and maintaining knowledge on relevant technology developments and contributing to FedEx Global Tax Technology Strategy

Our requirements

• University degree in Tax (direct taxes) and/or Accounting supplemented with a Tax degree
• 5–7 years of experience in an in-house corporate tax department and/or Big 4 tax consultancy firm
• Experience with corporate tax accounting and reporting in a multinational environment – US GAAP experience is a plus
• Excellent accounting and tax accounting skills, including tax accounting technology experience
• Understanding of CIT rules
• Excellent communication and strong analytical skills
• Team player with a service-oriented attitude
• Self-starter, ability to independently diagnose and resolve problems
• Effective time management
• Fluent in English

About the role:

The Tax Specialist – Senior, with focus on Tax Accounting & Reporting, supports the Corporate Income Tax accounting and reporting for all legal entities in Europe & MEISA within FedEx. The Tax Specialist – Senior forms part of a team of people that make up the Center of Excellence Tax Accounting & Reporting for Europe & MEISA.

The Tax Specialist – Senior has a reporting line to the Manager Tax Reporting, based in the Netherlands.

As part of the FedEx Tax team, the individual will have access to and be part of a network of global and (sub)regional tax colleagues and subject matter specialists including in transfer pricing, indirect taxes, M&A and business advisory.
