Mid Backend Developer (Python → RoR)

We are looking for a Mid Backend Developer (Python/RoR) — B2B Cooperation Project focus: computational models for solar panel performance & energy optimization

At  MindPal , we build intelligent, production-ready systems used across the energy, education, and HR-tech sectors. Our team in Gliwice works on products that directly influence business outcomes — including advanced tools for designing and optimizing solar installations.

We’re looking for a  Backend Developer with at least 2 years of commercial experience  and solid Python experience who is interested in expanding their skills into Ruby on Rails. While the project is primarily developed in Ruby on Rails,  you don’t need to be an experienced Ruby developer to join us  — we are open to strong Python backend developers who are willing to learn Ruby on Rails and gradually transition into the project’s technology stack.

We offer  long-term B2B cooperation  on backend projects focused on computational models, solar panel performance, and energy optimization.

The cooperation involves developing and maintaining backend components, implementing computational solutions, and contributing to production-ready features and technical improvements. The project is primarily developed in  Ruby on Rails , with an opportunity to build on your existing Python backend experience while developing your skills in Ruby and Rails.

The cooperation may follow a  hybrid model, with occasional on-site collaboration in Gliwice depending on project needs and agreed arrangements .

• Development and maintenance of backend components in  Ruby on Rails .
• Gradual transition into the project’s Ruby on Rails technology stack, building on your existing backend development experience.
• Implementation of computational modules supporting solar panel layout and performance calculations.
• Development and integration of solutions using relational databases such as  PostgreSQL  and  MySQL .
• Cooperation with technical team members, PMs, architects, and other project stakeholders on production features and system design.
• Participation in  code reviews , technical discussions, knowledge-sharing activities, and R&D initiatives.
• Delivery of clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Contribution to technical improvements and solutions supporting the performance and reliability of the project.

• 2+ years of commercial experience  in backend development.
• Solid experience with  Python  and a strong understanding of backend development fundamentals, including  OOP and REST APIs .
• Willingness to learn  Ruby on Rails  and gradually transition into the project’s technology stack.
• Experience with  Git  and containerization using  Docker .
• Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently within an agreed project scope.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Curiosity and willingness to work with new technologies and technical approaches.

• Basic familiarity with  Ruby or Ruby on Rails .
• Experience with calculations, algorithms, engineering tasks, or similar problem-solving projects.
• Familiarity with  TypeScript  or  AI integrations .
• Experience with computational models or optimization-related projects.
