DevSecOps Engineer (AWS)

Itexus is looking for a DevOps Engineer (AWS / Security focus) to join a long-term project with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure, security, and compliance.

About the Project

Join a long-term aviation project for a US-based client. The platform is designed to improve aircraft uptime and operational efficiency by streamlining maintenance workflows, technical documentation, and regulatory data.

This cloud-based, AI-driven solution provides real-time insights and predictive analytics for airlines, MROs, and aviation teams worldwide, helping enhance safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.

The team is building scalable web applications, integrating APIs, and delivering intuitive, data-rich dashboards used across the global aviation industry.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on DevOps/SecOps role focused on infrastructure, cloud security, and compliance automation. You will work closely with a dedicated security specialist and be responsible for implementing and maintaining security practices across AWS environments.

Responsibilities

• WAF deployment (Cloudflare, AWS WAF) and operational baseline policies, tuning, and exception handling in place.
• Vanta evidence gathering automation improved to reduce manual overhead and allow for quick control evidence gathering.
• Implement data cleanup initiatives (Map Data, label data, understand where our data is, age of data, cleanup old data).
• Lead Cortex DR agent rollout to cloud environment (EC2 instances, Kubernetes, etc).

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps / SecOps
• Strong hands‑on experience implementing and operationalizing WAF solutions in production.
• Experience implementing data hygiene controls and guardrails.
• Experience with compliance automation, such as automation of evidence gathering.
• Experience identifying and helping remediate stale, exposed, unnecessary, or misconfigured assets as part of technical cleanup or hardening initiatives
• Strong AWS security engineering experience (best practices, implementing guardrails, IR in AWS environment).
• Strong scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar
• Experience working directly with DevOps, infrastructure, and engineering teams to implement security changes
• Ability to work in fast‑paced environments and take ownership
