About the project

Are you passionate about shaping cutting-edge architecture and delivering innovative solutions? We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join our client’s team and be part of a transformative journey towards next-generation payment capabilities.

You will play a critical role in delivering Future State Architecture (FSA) for payment processing, introducing a lean and reusable payment processing engine. This engine will become the core of future payment capabilities, providing high-speed, cost-effective, and high-quality product delivery.

Your responsibilities

• Deliver engineering expertise for Future State Architecture and create best-in-class payment processing capabilities.
• Produce high-quality code artifacts, ensuring quality gates are met and robust testing is included.
• Design and develop highly available and resilient software in a distributed environment.
• Partner with DevOps teams to implement automated infrastructure delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
• Provide technical solutions to complex problems, perform feasibility studies, and deliver architecture guidance in alignment with global standards.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and compliance requirements, including cybersecurity and data privacy regulations.
• Note: Detailed project information will be shared during the recruitment process.

Our requirements

• 8+ years of applied experience as an API engineer with solid understanding of architectural design (gap analysis, data models, etc.).
• Strong engineering background in back-end microservices development, application security, authentication, caching, and middleware.
• Advanced programming skills in Java (Go and Rust are a plus). Familiarity with Spring Boot and distributed systems design.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger).
• Expertise in cloud environments, networking, identity and access management, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience working in financial institutions, preferably in payment systems.
• Strong leadership abilities to mentor and inspire the team, coupled with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
