Accountant with Romanian - Billing & Collections (F/M)

Your responsibilities
- Manage customer master data: create, verify and update records.
- Prepare, amend and post sales invoices, waste invoices and credit notes in the accounting/ERP system.
- Proactively manage cash collections: monitor balances, send payment reminders, chase overdue payments and negotiate payment terms with customers via email and phone.
- Record and reconcile incoming payments in the system; handle unapplied receipts, short payments and clearing of overdue items.
- Reconcile customer and intercompany accounts regularly; liaise with sales and finance stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
- Support month-end closing activities and AR reporting in line with deadlines and process requirements.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal controls; support audit requests.
- Participate in knowledge transfer and transition activities; create and maintain process documentation.
- Analyze AR metrics (DSO, aging), identify risks and propose process improvements for cash collections.
Employer requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable / Cash Collections; experience in a Shared Service Center (SSC) or BPO is preferred.
- Customer-focused, proactive, detail-oriented and results-driven.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal Romanian; English proficiency at least B2.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Optional
- Experience with process transitions and documentation is an advantage.
- Familiarity with MS Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems is a plus.
