Process Controller, Global Functions Finance Tower

UPM currently seeks a Process Controller, Global Functions Finance Tower to join our Business HUB Poland located in Wrocław.

Responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end financial support within the defined fixed‑cost area.
• Perform complex accounting and business reporting tasks for the named area.
• Work closely with accountants and experts to ensure compliance.
• Ensure the outsourcing partner has the required on‑time information, coordinate and monitor tasks performed by the outsourcing partner.
• Proactively identify and implement continuous improvement of accounting and reporting services, processes and tools.
• Participate in development projects.
• Report on the own area and its short‑term development in cooperation with relevant stakeholders and teams.
• Conduct complex and proactive analytics within the own area of responsibility.
• Create and maintain user instructions and training materials, and organize trainings when needed.
• Deliver timely, accurate, and effective accounting services.
• Ensure compliance with UPM internal controls, business rules, policies, guidelines and legal requirements.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in controlling, financial planning, or management reporting, preferably in a shared service or GBS environment.
• Experience with internal controls, audit coordination, and compliance in an international corporate setting.
• Good knowledge of transfer‑pricing principles, inter‑company accounting, and cost‑allocation methodologies.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and consolidation/reporting tools (e.g., SAP Onestream); BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau; AI skills are a plus.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Experience working in cross‑functional or multicultural teams with strong change‑management capabilities.
• Analytical skills to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Polish or Finnish is an advantage.

Additional Information

Position located in Business HUB Poland, Wrocław. Hybrid working model combining remote work from home with regular on‑site collaboration. The role reports directly to Anne Hänninen, VP, Business Hub Poland.
