Senior Java Developer

For our Client - an international technology organization delivering advanced retail and point-of-sale solutions - we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer. You will join a dynamic and multicultural development team working on innovative software solutions used across various industries, including retail, hospitality, and services.

Your new role  

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for customizing and extending standard software products to meet specific customer requirements. Your main tasks will include:

• Designing and developing new business processes or enhancing existing ones within POS (Point of Sale) systems, including cash registers, self-checkout systems, and scale systems
• Working on central services such as cash management, POS reporting, master data management, goods flow monitoring, and promotion tools
• Developing solutions for mobile devices and edge services
• Integrating third-party systems (e.g. payment, loyalty, couponing systems) using various interfaces such as REST/web services
• Collaborating on integrations with hardware components like payment terminals, printers, and scanners
• Ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code within an agile environment

What you'll need to succeed  

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Java development
• Strong hands-on experience with several of the following:
  • Java, Spring, REST APIs
  • Maven, Git, GitLab, Jenkins
  • Testing frameworks (e.g. Mockito)
  • Databases (Oracle, MS SQL)
  • Cloud technologies
• Good understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns
• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and domains
• Experience with TypeScript, Vue.js, or frontend development is a plus
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
