Offer Description
According to the Polish regulations, Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, Institute of Civil Engineering searches for the candidate for the assistant professor position. The ideal candidate should have a doctoral degree and master’s degree in the field of engineering and technology (architecture). The candidate will be responsible for conducting classes on architectural and building design, and engineering graphics for the students of Civil Architecture and Engineering. The classes will be held in Polish and English.
Requirements
Research Field Engineering > Civil engineering Education Level PhD or equivalent
- a doctoral degree and completed Master’s studies in architecture or architecture and urban planning,
- building design qualifications without limitations in the architectural specialty,
- very good command of Polish and English (minimum B2), both spoken and written,
- knowledge and practical skills necessary for conducting teaching classes in Polish and English in the fields of architectural, construction design, certification, and engineering graphics,
- readiness to supervise diploma theses in the fields of architectural, construction, and urban design, as well as thematically related subjects conducted within the Architecture and Civil Engineering programmes, including Civil Engineering,
- visible research activity of an international scope; completion of an internship at a foreign scientific institution is welcome,
- very good knowledge of the MS Office package and design software (AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit),
- ability to work in a team and availability, including readiness to conduct part‑time/weekend classes,
- publication of monographs or articles in highly ranked scientific journals included in the relevant lists of the Ministry of Education and Science (including at least two publications with IF – Web of Science Core Collection),
- obtaining a positive opinion from the committee responsible for teaching matters regarding conducted teaching classes, and in the case of applicants seeking employment who are not employees of SGGW – obtaining a positive opinion from the committee for a scientific lecture delivered at a seminar organized at the Institute of Civil Engineering of SGGW,
- publication of at least 4 monographs or articles in highly ranked scientific journals included in the relevant lists of the Ministry of Education and Science (including, among others, two publications with IF – Web of Science Core Collection),
- management of a research project in the past or currently, or submission of a research project in a competition to research funding institutions,
- within the last 2 calendar years, obtaining an average annual number of points for scientific articles, scientific monographs, or chapters in scientific monographs at least 50% higher than the minimum average annual number of points required to obtain a positive evaluation of research activity for an academic teacher employed in the position of assistant, as specified in the academic teacher evaluation rules valid on the date of application submission
Specific Requirements
The position covers three main areas: research, teaching, and scientific cooperation. The candidate should conduct classes on architectural and building design, general construction, architecture and urban planning, and engineering graphics. The candidate should also give instructions and supervise the students’ work concerning those subjects. The classes will be held in Polish and English. Minimum 240-hours contract per academic year.
