R&D Lead - Network Capabilities

Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the research agenda for future network capabilities
• Help shape Deutsche Telekom's long-term vision for intelligent and adaptive networks
• Explore emerging paradigms at the intersection of networks, AI, sensing, and physical systems
• Develop and validate concepts through prototypes and experiments
• Build collaborations with academia, startups, and industry partners
• Identify and assess impactful technology trends
• Translate research into strategic telecom capabilities
• Represent Deutsche Telekom in global research industry ecosystems
• Contribute to publications, intellectual property, and thought leadership

Requirements:

• Expertise in areas such as network architectures, distributed AI, physical AI, sensing, cyber-physical systems, or autonomous systems
• Experience in applied research, experimentation, or advanced tech strategy
• Strong collaboration and ecosystem-building skills
• Strong systems-thinking and cross-domain mindset
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Passion for future technologies and transformative infrastructure

Nice to have:

• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Telecommunications, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or similar, PhD is a strong plus
