Network Specialist Cloud (Warsaw, near-site) – Frontex

Profile: Network Specialist Cloud (Local Area Networking, Wide Area Networking, Cloud Networking, Data Center Networking, Network Management, SDN) – Advanced Level.

Place of performance: Frontex Headquarters - On-site service provision – 50% intramuros + 50% extramuros.

Duration of the mission: 50 months.

Security Clearance: Is required (security screening procedure must be initiated within first 45 days of assignment) - CONFIDENTIEL UE/EU CONFIDENTIAL.

Minimum level of education: Level 4.

Minimum English language skills: B2.

Minimum IT relevant experience: 5 years in relevant Network Specialist.

Award Criteria: 40% Price / 60% Quality.

Minimum required scoring for interview: 50%.

Rate

310€/day NWH 400€/day EWH/ 6,5€/hour OnC

• NWH: 220days x3 years + 250days 4th year.
• EWH: 15days x4 years.
• OnC: 1300h x 3 years + 250 4th year.

Required certifications

• CCNA or equivalent from other network vendors.

Knowledge and Skills

• [01] Very good understanding of TCP/IP protocols and IP routing.
• [02] Very good understanding of Ethernet switching protocols.
• [03] Good knowledge of network services like DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc.
• [04] Good understanding of the wired and wireless access technologies (wifi, 802.1x/EAP etc.).
• [05] Good understanding of the application-layer authentication and encryption mechanisms, e.g. protocols, PKI and X.509 certificates.
• [06] Hands‑on experience with the products and solutions related to the domain (e.g. Cisco routers and switches, wireless controllers, network firewalls etc.).
• [07] Hands‑on experience in administering a large enterprise network.
• [08] Good knowledge of the network configuration of the endpoint operating systems (Windows, Linux, IOS etc.).

Specific Expertise

• [01] Very good knowledge of Azure network services.
• [02] Good knowledge of AWS network services.
• [03] Very good knowledge of DevOps concepts (CI/CD, pipelines, etc).
• [04] Hands‑on experience with the network automation and DevOps tools and solutions (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, git, etc.).
• [05] Work experience in programming in script languages (e.g. sh, python, PowerShell).
• [06] Good knowledge of data formats used in DevOps (e.g. JSON, YAML, XML).

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and troubleshoot IP networks.
• Administer the structural cabling system.
• Performing changes in physical and logical network configuration, installing and removing devices, cabling connections etc.
• Provide 2nd line support to Frontex system and network users.
• Create and update the technical documentation and operating procedures.
• Advice possible network improvements, changes or upgrades to the network infrastructure.

Travel

• Occasional travel may be required in exceptional cases.
• Reiumbursable travel expenses: 10.000,00 € x 4 years.
