our Client for the position of Expert FP&A / OPEX Controller – Shared Services Center.

As an Expert FP&A / OPEX Controller within a Group Shared Services Center, you will play a critical role in providing advanced financial planning, cost controlling, and performance management support to central functions within an international organization.

This role is designed for a senior FP&A professional with strong expertise in operational expenditure (OPEX) management, cost transparency, and cross-functional business partnering in a complex, matrix environment. You will act as a trusted financial advisor to functional leaders, driving cost efficiency, financial discipline, and high-quality decision support while contributing to the continuous development of FP&A standards, reporting, and systems.

Your responsibilities

• Act as Senior Business Partner to central functions, providing expert-level financial insights, cost analysis, and decision support.
• Own and drive OPEX controlling processes, ensuring cost transparency, efficiency, and alignment with organizational priorities.
• Prepare and deliver monthly management reporting, including cost analysis, variance explanations, forecasts, budgets, and ad-hoc financial insights.
• Lead rolling forecasts, annual budgeting, and long-term planning processes with a strong focus on cost drivers and quality of assumptions.
• Support and challenge stakeholders in evaluating cost efficiency, productivity KPIs, and value realization of operational spending.
• Coordinate and review accruals and month-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with accounting standards.
• Monitor and explain variances versus budget and forecast, providing clear commentary and actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with Group-level functions and business stakeholders to ensure consistency in standards, timelines, and reporting formats.
• Contribute to the development of standardized, scalable FP&A reporting across functions and entities.
• Actively participate in process improvement and automation initiatives, focusing on data quality, efficiency, and simplification.
• Support reporting systems and master data governance, including cost center structures, hierarchies, documentation, and communication.

Employer requirements

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in FP&A, controlling, or financial analysis, preferably within Shared Services or other cost-intensive environments.
• Strong hands-on experience in OPEX controlling, cost management, and performance analysis.
• Solid experience in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and KPI-based performance management.
• Exposure to projects, transformations, or PMO environments is a strong asset.
• Experience working in matrixed, international organizations with multiple stakeholders.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau); ERP system experience is an advantage.
• Strong end-to-end process understanding combined with attention to detail.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
