O projekcie, About the role, We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with approximately 2–3 years of commercial experience to join a small Polish-British team developing an in-vitro diagnostic device., , Your primary responsibility will be developing and testing embedded software in C. You will work independently, with technical and scientific guidance from a doctoral researcher involved in the development of the device., , This is primarily a software-development position. However, writing tests, analysing results and creating technical documentation are regular parts of the role., , The product is being developed in a regulated environment. Our development processes are being progressively aligned with IVD requirements, so the way we work, test and document software continues to evolve. You should be comfortable working in an environment in which processes are becoming more structured while the product is still under active development., , Tools and working environment, Our primary development environment is Visual Studio Code. We use Git for version control and CI/CD pipelines to support development and testing., , Claude is available as a tool supporting programming, analysis and documentation. Any AI-assisted output must be understood, reviewed and tested by the engineer responsible for the change., , The team includes both Polish and British members, so English is used in everyday communication and is a mandatory requirement for this position., , How we work, You will receive a defined objective and its technical context while retaining meaningful influence over implementation, test design and proposed technical solutions., , The role requires independence, but you will not be left without technical support. Important decisions are discussed with the team and the person responsible for the scientific and technical direction of the device., , The team works mainly on-site because development frequently requires access to the physical device and laboratory equipment. Partial remote work is possible, depending on the current tasks and prior agreement with the team., , Recruitment process, The recruitment interview will be conducted entirely in English and will include a discussion of your previous embedded projects, C programming experience, testing approach and practical problem-solving skills., , Please note, This is not a coding-only position. Writing tests, analysing results and creating technical documentation are integral parts of everyday work., , If you have solid embedded C foundations, can work independently with both software and hardware, and would like to contribute to a product being developed for a regulated IVD environment, we would like to hear from you.

Twój zakres obowiązków, Developing embedded software in C, Developing and maintaining firmware for microcontrollers, Working with STM32-based hardware, Implementing peripheral drivers and hardware interfaces, Maintaining and improving the existing codebase, Diagnosing problems at the boundary between software and electronics, Writing unit, integration and functional tests, Analysing test results and resolving identified defects, Using Git for version control, Configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, Participating in code reviews, Creating technical and software-development documentation, Supporting the gradual introduction of development processes required for an IVD product, Planning and completing assigned tasks independently, Identifying and clearly communicating technical risks

2–3 years of commercial experience in C programming, 2–3 years of experience in embedded software development, Practical experience working with microcontrollers, Experience using Git in a team environment, Experience configuring or working with CI/CD pipelines, Experience writing and executing software tests, Ability to read microcontroller datasheets and technical documentation, Ability to diagnose software and hardware-related problems, Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks, Willingness to create documentation as an integral part of software development, Communicative English suitable for everyday technical work, Readiness to participate in a recruitment interview conducted entirely in English, Ability to work primarily from our office
