About Our Client

For our client - an international company - we are looking for a VAT Compliance Analyst in the EMEA region. This position is being created due to the dynamic growth of the finance department and offers the opportunity to work on international tax processes, as well as to actively participate in improving and optimizing VAT processes across the organization.

Job Description

• Oversee VAT-related general ledger accounts, including reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany postings.
• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with local regulations across EMEA.
• Monitor transactions and reports to identify discrepancies or compliance risks.
• Support audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Collaborate with the team to improve VAT processes and implement best practices.
• Create training materials and provide guidance to colleagues on VAT matters.
• Assist with preparing reports and documentation to support VAT operations and financial controls.

The Successful Applicant

• Minimum of one year of experience in VAT compliance or VAT advisory, or equivalent accounting experience with a strong focus on VAT.
• Knowledge of indirect tax principles, including taxable base, place of taxation, VAT timing, and input VAT treatment.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong attention to detail.
