We have been offering outsourced/outstaffed QA and Art services to companies worldwide. From casual games to complex AAA projects, our QA team ensures that everything goes as planned, benefiting game developers, publishers, and players alike.

We are looking for a  Middle QA Engineer (Backend-Focused) for one of our key international clients (Scopely). This is a technical QA role focused on backend systems, APIs, integrations, and infrastructure quality.

You will act as a system-oriented QA owner who ensures backend reliability, identifies risks early, and improves internal and external workflows used by Live Ops, Support, and engineering teams.

For which tasks (responsibilities)?

• Test backend APIs and services (with and without UI), including data integrity, error handling, edge cases, and negative scenarios.

• Validate system behavior under failures, timeouts, degraded states, and unexpected inputs.

• Work with admin tools and internal platforms used by QA, Live Ops, and Support; suggest workflow improvements.

• Test third-party integrations (payments, authentication, external APIs) and handle dependency failures.

• Work with messaging systems (queues, events, retries, ordering) and scheduling/back-end trigger logic.

• Perform load, stress, and performance testing on backend systems and APIs.

• Identify scalability, security, and performance risks (auth, data exposure, abuse cases).

• Collaborate with engineers and QA on issue validation and mitigation.

• Document risks, test coverage, and findings in a clear and structured way.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• 2+ years of experience in QA (backend/API testing focus is a strong advantage).

• Hands-on experience testing APIs using tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar.

• Strong understanding of backend testing types: API, integration, regression, negative testing.

• Experience validating data consistency and backend logic.

• Understanding of client-server architecture and API contracts.

• Experience testing third-party integrations (payments, auth, external APIs).

• Experience working with non-UI systems or backend-heavy products.

• Strong analytical mindset with ability to find edge cases and failure scenarios.

• Understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile methodologies.

• Experience working with bug tracking systems.

• Upper-intermediate English (B2) or higher (written and spoken).

• Strong communication skills and ability to report risks clearly.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with messaging systems (queues, events, async processing).

• Experience with performance/load testing tools.

• Understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture.

• Experience with scheduling systems and time-based backend logic.

• Knowledge of basic security testing (auth flows, data protection risks).

• Experience working with Live Ops / game backend systems.
