For our client, a global leader in the manufacture of medical devices used in interventional specialties, we are looking for candidates for the position of Senior Accountant (Local Finance) for a project assignment lasting 6–9 months.

The successful candidate will join the local finance team and play a key role in ensuring compliance with local accounting and tax regulations, supporting financial reporting, statutory compliance, audits, and process improvement initiatives in close cooperation with the Shared Service Center.

Your responsibilities

• Support month-end closing activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP.
• Prepare and submit VAT reports while driving VAT-related compliance initiatives.
• Manage withholding tax (WHT) reporting and compliance.
• Maintain and monitor the fixed assets register and depreciation.
• Prepare statutory reports for NBP, GUS, and INTRASTAT.
• Act as the local Source-to-Pay (S2P) coordinator.
• Support the implementation of new corporate and local accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist with statutory and corporate audits.
• Conduct technical accounting research and prepare accounting policy documentation.
• Collaborate closely with the Shared Service Center to optimize accounting processes.
• Identify and drive process improvements across finance operations.
• Support the implementation of JPK ST KR.
• Participate in finance-related projects and take on additional accounting responsibilities as needed.

Our requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Polish tax legislation, including VAT, WHT, and CIT.
• Knowledge of statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience working with Shared Service Centers (SSC).
• Experience with SAP (S/4HANA is an advantage).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Fluency in Polish and English.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional and collaborative approach when working with internal and external partners.
