Project Overview:
Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come.
This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulation 10 CFR Part 810, which governs the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of electrical systems for industrial and energy projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will prepare technical documentation, perform engineering calculations, and support the delivery of high-quality electrical designs that meet project, client, and regulatory requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
Design electrical systems and installations for industrial and energy projects.
Prepare engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, schematics, connection diagrams, panel schedules, load lists, and technical specifications.
Perform electrical design calculations and support equipment sizing and selection.
Develop material requisitions, technical specifications, and bills of materials for electrical equipment and components.
Review and verify electrical designs and documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and engineers from other disciplines to support project execution.
Review vendor documentation and incorporate supplier data into project designs where required.
Participate in design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination activities.
Support document checking and quality reviews in accordance with project procedures.
Contribute to the resolution of technical issues and provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
Effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver work within project schedules.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or international equivalent).
2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering and design.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, systems, equipment, and installation practices.
Experience preparing and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Understanding of applicable industry codes, standards, regulations, and engineering best practices.
Experience with electrical design calculations and equipment selection.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other engineering software tools.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned tasks, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
