Staff Engineer, Product Transfer

Staff Engineer is a CNC Subject Matter Expert responsible for machining processes (turning, milling) within Product Transfer. Provides technical leadership, ensures robust process implementation, and drives optimization of CNC operations, equipment, and tooling.

What will you do:

• Lead CNC process development and transfer (machining, setup, optimization)
• Define machining strategies, cutting parameters, and tooling selection
• Support equipment specification, FAT/SAT, installation and validation
• Analyze process performance (capability, scrap, cycle time) and drive improvements
• Ensure process stability, repeatability, and compliance with quality standards
• Lead/participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP and PPAP activities
• Troubleshoot CNC-related issues and lead root cause analysis
• Define inspection strategy and support MSA & capability studies
• Create and maintain process documentation (WI, setup sheets, standards)
• Train operators and engineers in CNC processes

• Strong experience in CNC machining (turning, milling, finishing)
• Experience with CNC programming and process optimization
• Experience with equipment purchase, commissioning, and validation
• Good understanding of materials and machining behavior
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
• Experience in regulated environment (MedTech/FDA)
• Lean / Six Sigma knowledge
• Fluency in English

Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of machining processes and tooling
• Strong data analysis (Cp/Cpk, SPC, MSA)
• Experience with SAP/MES and production data
• Practical validation knowledge (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Ability to define and optimize process parameters
• Capability to lead technical decisions and support teams
