Senior AI Platform Engineer (Data & GenAI)

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape enterprise-scale AI and GenAI platforms from the ground up . You will work hands-on with production-grade data and GenAI solutions, influence architecture decisions across global programs, and help define standards for scalable, secure, and responsible AI adoption at Jacobs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable data pipelines ingesting, transforming, and serving data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 to support analytics, ML, and GenAI workloads
- Design and develop LLM-based agent solutions , including tool use, API integrations, and data retrieval pipelines
- Evaluate, benchmark, and continuously improve agent behavior, grounding quality, and output reliability
- Design and implement cloud-native data architectures that enable AI, ML, and GenAI workloads
- Build and optimize scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time) using Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, MLflow)
- Integrate and manage large-scale enterprise data, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 as a core source system, alongside other internal and external data sources
- Implement ETL / ELT workflows using cloud-native services (e.g. AWS Glue, Lambda, Data Pipeline or equivalent)
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and solution architects to meet model, product, and business requirements
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platforms for reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency
- Continuously improving data and AI engineering standards, tooling, and best practices
Here's what you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, AI platform engineering, or related roles
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or similar languages
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and modern lakehouse architectures
- Solid understanding of ML and GenAI lifecycles and how data platforms support model development and deployment
- Experience implementing or supporting RAG architectures, agent-based systems, and LLM-powered solutions
- Practical knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, indexing, and reranking techniques
- Experience deploying and operating data and ML workloads at scale in cloud environments
- Strong understanding of core cloud services (IAM, networking, compute, storage, databases, monitoring, logging)
- Excellent analytical skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work in complex problem domains
Nice to have:
- Experience with data privacy, governance, and regulatory compliance
- Experience working with PII and sensitive data, including classification and secure handling
- Experience in consulting or multi-client project environments
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM or other enterprise CRM platforms
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
