Senior AI Platform Engineer (Data & GenAI)

At Jacobs we're embarking on an exciting journey as we initiate the development of our Digital & Data Hub in the heart of Krakow. Our mission is to undertake projects spanning various industries, including Consumer and Manufacturing, Defence and Security, Energy and Utilities, Financial Services, Government and Public Services, Health and Life Sciences, and Transport.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape enterprise-scale AI and GenAI platforms from the ground up . You will work hands-on with production-grade data and GenAI solutions, influence architecture decisions across global programs, and help define standards for scalable, secure, and responsible AI adoption at Jacobs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build scalable data pipelines ingesting, transforming, and serving data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 to support analytics, ML, and GenAI workloads
  • Design and develop LLM-based agent solutions , including tool use, API integrations, and data retrieval pipelines
  • Evaluate, benchmark, and continuously improve agent behavior, grounding quality, and output reliability
  • Design and implement cloud-native data architectures that enable AI, ML, and GenAI workloads
  • Build and optimize scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time) using Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, MLflow)
  • Integrate and manage large-scale enterprise data, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 as a core source system, alongside other internal and external data sources
  • Implement ETL / ELT workflows using cloud-native services (e.g. AWS Glue, Lambda, Data Pipeline or equivalent)
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and solution architects to meet model, product, and business requirements
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platforms for reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency
  • Continuously improving data and AI engineering standards, tooling, and best practices

Here's what you'll need

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, AI platform engineering, or related roles
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or similar languages
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and modern lakehouse architectures
  • Solid understanding of ML and GenAI lifecycles  and how data platforms support model development and deployment
  • Experience implementing or supporting RAG architectures, agent-based systems, and LLM-powered solutions
  • Practical knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, indexing, and reranking techniques
  • Experience deploying and operating data and ML workloads at scale in cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of core cloud services (IAM, networking, compute, storage, databases, monitoring, logging)
  • Excellent analytical skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work in complex problem domains

Nice to have:

  • Experience with data privacy, governance, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience working with PII and sensitive data, including classification and secure handling
  • Experience in consulting or multi-client project environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM or other enterprise CRM platforms
  • Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
