About the project

Building financial intelligence for 100M+ users across the world’s leading banks - as an Architect, you will own the architecture of the entire platform - from services and data to integrations and deployment models. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will define the target architecture, make key technical decisions, and ensure the platform can scale with the needs of the business. The platform transformation is focused on performance, architecture, and AI across systems used by some of the world’s largest banks. Your role will be to shape the future of the platform, stay close to implementation, and ensure today’s engineering decisions support long-term growth.

Your responsibilities

• Own the target architecture by defining the platform structure, establishing clear service boundaries, and making architectural decisions that enable engineers to build with confidence.
• Lead the technical transformation across key initiatives, including on-premises to cloud migration, MSSQL to PostgreSQL migration, and the evolution from legacy systems to a modern platform architecture.
• Stay closely involved throughout the transformation to ensure the implementation remains aligned with the architectural vision and to identify potential issues early.
• Create and maintain clear architectural documentation, including RFCs, ADRs, and technical strategy documents, ensuring that key decisions are well documented and effectively communicated.
• Drive the adoption of AI as a core architectural principle, integrating it into services, data pipelines, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) rather than treating it as an additional feature.

Our requirements

• Led the architecture of large-scale, distributed, data-intensive platforms running in production for enterprise customers.
• Successfully migrated live systems between architectures without disrupting business operations, with a strong understanding of the technical and organizational trade-offs involved.
• Extensive hands-on experience with C#/.NET, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL across both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Able to review complex codebases, identify architectural weaknesses, and recommend practical improvements.
• Experienced in writing RFCs, architecture decision records (ADRs), and other technical documentation that drives clear engineering decisions.
• Strong communicator, trusted by both engineering teams and enterprise customers, including senior technical stakeholders such as bank architects.
• AI-native approach to software architecture, proactively designing systems with AI capabilities in mind rather than adding them as an afterthought. (Current tooling: Cursor & Claude Code.)
