Quant Developer

StratsLab

Are you tired of standard developer roles? StratsLab is an elite, developer-driven company where top-tier IT talent meets deep financial expertise. We aren't just building software - we are building the sophisticated, bespoke tools that major European and US financial institutions rely on to navigate the complex world of commodities trade and risk.

If you are a high-calibre Quant Developer who values intellectual sparring, direct influence on solution design and seeing your ideas implemented from day one, this is your opportunity.

The StratsLab Difference: Why You Should Read This

We were founded in 2015 by alumni of the Warsaw University MIM Faculty, who spent years sharpening their skills at top-tier investment banks and hedge funds in London. We brought that exclusive, high-impact culture back to Warsaw.

  • Developer-Driven : You will be surrounded by top-notch Developers who genuinely love to code. We prioritize writing new code over maintaining legacy systems.

  • Unique Domain : You'll gain unique, marketable skills working directly in the highly specialized area of commodities trade risk assessment. This isn't generic IT - it's highly challenging and intellectually rewarding.

  • Real Impact : You will have independent, responsible tasks and will have a chance to implement your ideas, seeing the immediate effects of your work on complex financial systems.

Your Role: The Challenge Ahead

Your brief will be to independently create and implement sophisticated solutions, tailored to client needs in the highly specialised area of commodities trade, with a critical focus on risk assessment models.

  • You'll be accountable for the independent delivery of tasks, from concept to deployment.

  • The priority is writing new code rather than system maintenance.

  • You will be afforded full independence in task selection and implementation within the agreed project scope.

  • You'll apply your intellectual potential to demanding, non-standard assignments.

What Makes You the Right Fit?

We are looking for an individual who doesn't just „tick the boxes", but bring a unique blend of technical and financial passion:

  • Background: A strong academic foundation: graduate in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other relevant field.

  • Experience : Proven experience as a Quant/Quant Developer or within risk validation departments, fintech or investment banking.

  • Code Proficiency : Experienced in programming, preferably in Python or C++.

  • Domain Interest: A genuine interest in the financial markets.

  • The Extras : Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP),

  • Communication: Fluent English (essential for international teams) and the ability to transfer knowledge and present solutions to non-technical clients.

Collaborative Work Model

Our Work Style: we thrive on interpersonal relations and the ability to solve the most complex problems together. While you are an independent developer, we require a consistent physical presence in our office most of the time. This is strictly because the complex, specialized nature of financial risk projects demands the highest level of spontaneous, face-to-face collaboration and real-time knowledge transfer within our expert team: it is essential for meeting project quality standards. We are looking for individuals who see this collaborative environment as critical to delivering the best possible results.

The Offer: Compensation & Community

We believe that high-calibre work deserves exceptional support:

  • Remuneration : An attractive compensation plus a bonus twice a year.

  • Professional Growth : Structured self-development in finance and knowledge-sharing with exceptional programmers.

  • Flexible working hours.

  • Access to attractive group rates for Luxmed medical insurance and a Multisport card.

  • Office: We work in a modern office in Powiśle, Warsaw.
  • Office amenities including barista machine coffee, fresh fruits, snacks and „Beer Thursdays".

  • Voluntary international business trips.

The Next Step: Our Selection Process

We value efficiency and mutual fit, aiming for a process that is transparent and engaging:

  • Informal Introduction: The process usually begins with an informal meeting with our Founders to better establish cultural and technical alignment.

  • Technical Assessment: Candidates are required to take a technical assessment to evaluate relevant coding and problem-solving skills.

  • Team Engagement: You will also have the opportunity to meet and discuss the role directly with members of the core team you would be joining.
