Senior VMware Infrastructure Engineer

• 5+ years of experience in VMware infrastructure design, deployment, and administration
• Strong expertise in VMware stack: vSphere, vSAN, NSX, vRealize/Aria Suite
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms (HCI, Red Hat, Nutanix)
• VMware certification (VCP or VCAP) preferred
• Solid understanding of SAN technologies (Fibre Channel, iSCSI)
• Strong networking knowledge (VLANs, subnetting, load balancing, distributed switches)
• Understanding of Micro Segmentation in virtual environments

Our company is currently undergoing significant transformation across the EMEA region. We operate six regional data centers that play a key role in supporting our test environments. Historically, each region has managed its own processes and infrastructure independently. However, we are now moving toward a more unified, global operating model. The goal of this transformation is to strengthen our internal knowledge base and improve collaboration between regional and global teams. By consolidating expertise and standardizing our practices, we aim to increase efficiency and reduce duplication of effort. This shift will also allow us to provide more consistent and scalable support worldwide. The Team You Will Join

You will join the EMEA Data Centre Platform Team supporting 6 Data Centers across EMEA. This is a newly formed team that has the goal of delivering a first-class solution for MetLife.

The Opportunity

The EMEA Senior VMware Engineer will primarily be responsible for the management design and implementation of complex, large-scale virtualized infrastructures, specializing in vSphere, vSAN, and NSX, while driving automation (Power CLI, Ansible, Terraform) and hybrid-cloud integration (AWS, Azure). The EMEA Senior VMware Engineer will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), troubleshooting high-level issues, ensuring platform security, and cross training other engineers within the wider team.

The EMEA Senior VMware Engineer will is an exciting new role within the new team, and you will be responsible to the Manager of the team to deliver a world class solution for MetLife in EMEA.

The ideal candidate will have a wide understanding of IT infrastructure technologies to include but not limited to Network, Storage, Backup, Replication, HCI, Virtualisation, Windows and Linux operating systems

,[Design & Architecture: Creating High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents for enterprise virtualized environments, including VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation), Infrastructure Management: Installing, configuring, upgrading and supporting VMware ESXi, vCenter, SRM, vRealize Operations and Aria Suite tools, this will need to include SAN integration, Technology selection - Evaluate, select, and integrate new technology solutions and ensure they meet performance and security standards, Project oversight - Lead infrastructure-related projects, ensuring successful implementation and transition from conception to completion, Security and compliance - Implement security policies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards, Regulatory Compliance - Ensure all system designs meet the required regulatory standards, Performance and optimization- Monitor system performance, manage capacity, and identify areas for improvement, Collaboration - Work with project managers, business leaders, and other IT professionals to align infrastructure with business goals, Documentation and standards - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure processes and standards, Disaster recovery - Develop and lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning] Requirements: VMware, vSAN, NSX, Virtualization, Red Hat, SAN, Networking, Load balancing, Segmentation, vSphere, vRealize, Aria Suite, HCI, Nutanix, VCP, VCAP, iSCSI, VLANs, Micro Segmentation Tools: Agile.
