Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

Project Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer who will join the local team and collaborate with a broader organization of 120 professionals located around the globe. We deliver over 700 changes to production each month with standardized Agile DevSecOps processes that evolve over time.

The team operates in a microservices environment based on Java 11 and Spring Boot. The stack will be modernized with Google Cloud Platform services such as CloudSQL, GKE, Pub/Sub, BigQuery and Cloud Operations. The infrastructure supports a distributed cache using Oracle Coherence with Oracle and PostgreSQL as the underlying RDBMS. The user interface is built with Angular, and the platform integrates with other systems via MQ, file, web service and REST interfaces.

DevOps tools in use include TeamCity, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Ansible, Terraform, Docker and Flux.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GKE, CloudSQL, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Operations) in a large‑scale microservices environment
• Drive and support CI/CD pipeline development, maintenance, and optimization using Jenkins, Cloud Build, TeamCity, Maven, Nexus, and Ansible
• Manage and improve DevSecOps processes across the full software delivery lifecycle, contributing to 700+ production deployments per month
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and configuration management with Ansible and Flux
• Build and maintain automation scripts using Python and Shell scripting to streamline operational tasks
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network, connectivity, and infrastructure issues across containerized (Docker/GKE) and Linux‑based environments
• Configure and maintain TLS/certificate‑based security, messaging integrations (IBM MQ), and sFTP connectivity
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure reliable operation of Java 11 / Spring Boot microservices integrated with Oracle Coherence, Oracle DB, and PostgreSQL ODS
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of standardized DevOps practices within a globally distributed team of 120+ professionals
• Translate functional and business requirements into robust technical solutions, providing innovative approaches to complex tooling challenges
• Act as a subject‑matter expert and mentor for DevOps best practices, supporting both local and remote team members

Key Requirements

• 8+ years of hands‑on experience with GCP and DevOps tooling such as Jenkins and Jira
• Significant experience in software design, development and testing, preferably in Java / Python technology stack
• Strong DevOps and environment capabilities with proficiency in shell scripting and Python; comfortable working with Linux and containerized platforms
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Cloud Build and Ansible
• Strong troubleshooting skills for network and infrastructure issues
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and setting up/maintaining DevSecOps pipelines
• Familiarity with messaging queues (IBM MQ), sFTP connectivity, and TLS certificate implementations
• Self‑motivated and willing to learn new technologies and business domains
• Excellent communication skills in English (minimum B2 level)
• Ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions
• Drive innovative solutions to complex tooling problems
• Availability to work from the office in Krakow six times a month
