C Developer / Software Engineer (C Programming)

Project: On-Premises to Cloud Migration Contract Type: Contract Experience Level: Mid-Senior / Senior Overview Our client is looking for experienced C Developers to support a large-scale migration project, transitioning existing on-premises applications and systems to a cloud-based infrastructure. The successful candidates will be responsible for analysing, maintaining, adapting, and optimising applications developed in C, ensuring their compatibility, stability, and performance within the target cloud environment. This role requires strong expertise in C programming, experience working with legacy systems, and a solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments and application migration challenges. C Programming – Essential Strong professional experience developing applications in C (ISO C / ANSI C). Excellent understanding of pointers, memory allocation, data structures, and memory management. Strong knowledge of system-level programming and operating system interactions. Experience debugging and troubleshooting C applications using tools such as GDB and Valgrind. Experience working with C compilers and build tools such as GCC, Make, and CMake. Ability to analyse, maintain, and refactor large or legacy C codebases. Ideal Candidate Profile A hands-on C Developer with strong experience in systems programming and legacy application environments. Comfortable working with existing, potentially complex C codebases. Experienced in Linux/Unix environments and low-level debugging. Able to identify technical risks and resolve compatibility issues during infrastructure migrations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps teams. Comfortable working in a technically complex migration programme.
